Dinosaur King
For the Tyrannosaurus that appears in the anime, see Terry.
Altered/armored Tyrannosaurus from the anime also include Black T. rex, Gigas, and DinoTector Terry.

The Dinosaur King model is based on the type and long-time only species, Tyrannosaurus rex, but as of 2024 there is now a second species of Tyrannosaurus, T. mcraeensis, an earlier and possible anagenetic ancestor of T. rex.

Anime[]

Dinosaur King[]

In episode 1, Ed made a CGI animation of a Roman Colosseum-style stadium with a bunch of variously colored Tyrannosaurus running around in it for Dr. Z; Dr. Z was disappointed there was only one species present. Seconds later, a real Tyrannosaurus broke through the wall and destroyed the computer, chasing the two across Zeta Point.

A fossil Tyrannosaurus is mounted inside the D-Lab, seen in various episodes.

Much later, Dr. Owen made an animatronic Tyrannosaurus for Stanley Spinoberg's dinosaur movie colored after Terry, but Spinoberg repainted it with flower patterns and gave it a large bow and lipstick because he wanted a heartwarming mother-child reunion in his movie instead of science. Its skin was torn off the wire frame by pet-sized Chomp when he was put in the scene for filming and bit its nose.
