  • Which name should we use, Sheer or Shear? Since the 4Kids website is now defunct, I can't check that for confirmation. Just about every other website that has the dub name uses Sheer, but I'm not sure if I should trust them (considering that our Wiki and Wikipedia both use Sheer, and I think I added Sheer on Wikipedia).

    • it's confusing......but i think that its shear if we pronounce it. first to break the word in two parts. 1st she and 2nd er. in she (the last word e) is pronounced as (eee) and in er (the first word e) (is said to be aa) so sheer is not the correct answer. the correct answer is shear.        other things depend on you

    • I do believe that the two words are spoken the same way in English ...

    • @Fabiashear - Both "ee" and "ea" can make the long "e" sound in English, and besides, both "shear" and "sheer" each only have one syllable.

Comparing the words' meanings, you shear a sheep of its wool, and you try to avoid falling off a sheer cliff-face.
