Trivia[]
- Dr. Taylor's arcade comments:
- Original: メガロサウルスのなかまと考えられている肉食恐竜で、せなかがもり上がっているところがとくちょうだ。
- Translation: A carnivore considered related to Megalosaurus, its higher back is its characteristic.
- Along with Edmontosaurus, Agustinia, Piatnitzkysaurus (as a Dinosaur Card), and Olorotitan, it is one of the last dinosaurs released in the arcade, debuting in the final wave.
- Though only debuting in the last wave, it appeared on the Kyoryu King Wallpaper before its actual debut, alongside Agustinia, and was seen on the previous wave's Water Sword card.
- Metriacanthosaurus was the last new Fire Dinosaur in Dinosaur King.
- Despite only having one card, it had two Types in the arcade game data, only one of which was legitimately accessible, likely indicating it was once meant to have been given more cards, possibly in cancelled further releases.
- Despite what's stated on its arcade and TCG cards, its relationship to Megalosaurus is only historical, as it is now more closely grouped with carnosaurs like Allosaurus.
