Dinosaur King

Kalimba Desert is a location in Africa in the DS game first visited in the Postgame.

Description[]

Map - Kalimba Desert

Kalimba Desert Map

Accessed from Kalimba Park in the southwest; it links to the Alpha Fortress in the northwest. Sheila Oasis is in the center east, and Okapi Oasis is just west of center north. There is a constant overworld sandstorm with no in-battle effects.

Story[]

Postgame

The player can enter either for a side quest or simply to explore. Exiting the central plateau to the east leads to Sheila Oasis, where a woman will give them a Fan Letter to deliver to the famous fossil hunter Shu, who the player must track down. NPCs will inform the player they just missed Shu in South Dust Hills (Halfway Plain), Euro Town, and South Euro Plain, finally finding him in East Gobi Plain, rewarding the player the Torn Note for their trouble; this directs them to a player-dependent set Fossil (Saichania (Tie Type) in South Gobi Plain for Max, Spinosaurus (Tie Type) in Kalimba Desert for Rex).

Exiting the central plateau to the west finds a man who asks the player to collect Fresh Air from deep in the Alpha Fortress for his brother. Returning with it, he also asks the player to deliver it to his brother in Euro Town. Returning after that, he will reward the player 10 chell, as his brother warned he would.
