Dinosaur King

Dinosaur King

It is only known from its hip bones and the start of its tail. While formerly considered a tyrannosauroid, hence its name and assignment to the Fire Attribute, Siamotyrannus has since been reclassified as a metriacanthosaurid, but has more recently been moved out to an unplaced avetheropod (carnosaurs plus coelurosaurs). However, as it was introduced into Dinosaur King around 2007, this is somewhat excusable.

Trivia[]

  • DS Game Encyclopedia entry: Carnivore discovered in Thailand. Thought to be an early relative of the Tyrannosaurus[sic]
  • Its arcade card never appeared in any release edition, but the barcode was available in the machine and can be played if the game is mildly hacked (that is, to scan the corresponding barcode for it). It is also featured in the website's Dinosaur Museum. This probably means that Sega had intended to release it but ultimately didn't (perhaps resulting from Dinosaur King's hasty discontinuation).
  • Being programmed into the arcade but without a released card puts it into a similar position as the unnamed "Microraptor Move Card" and Tie Trap, though these Moves were never featured in other media, unlike Siamotyrannus.
  • Despite not properly being in the arcade game, it was featured in both the DS Game and TCG halfway through the franchise’s lifespan without issue.
