Gabbro triggered this form for Afrovenator to fight against Spiny, who used his DinoTector form. The two seemed equally strong, until Afrovenator used Tornado Toss, which defeated Spiny. It knocked the Alpha Gang away and swatted the gold piles around to discover the Red Cosmos Stone wasn't in that room. Moving to the one where the D-Team was, it fought against DinoTector Ace, but the ceiling had begun caving in after Genie knocked Gabbro into a wall, so Ace quickly used Hurricane Beat to defeat Afrovenator, destroying its Spectral Armor. Rex reclaimed its original card while escaping the collapsing cave.

Trivia

• Afrovenator was the first dinosaur all season in Mesozoic Meltdown to beat a dinosaur wearing DinoTector Armor (Spiny). Main dinosaurs had been defeated several times before, but never while wearing armor.
• Because its TCG card was released in the Spectral Armor Shock deck, it doesn't have the [Spectral Armor] ability that most other TCG Spectral Armor Dinosaurs do.
